Join us to hear Dr. Graham Hatfull share how to integrate research priorities with science education via the PHIRE (Phage Hunters Integrating Research and Education) and SEA-PHAGES (Science Education Alliance Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science) programs. PHIRE was established in 2002 with funding from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professors Program.

About the Speaker:

graham-hatfull-headshotGraham Hatfull is Professor of Biological Sciences and Eberly Family Professor of Biotechnology at the University of Pittsburgh. The research interests of the Hatfull lab include the molecular genetics of the mycobacteria and their bacteriophages, with particular interests in viral diversity and evolution, genetic systems for tuberculosis, and the mechanisms of site-specific recombination.
